Showing till Saturday, 21st April, 2012

In celebration of the International Women’s Day 2012 with the theme “Connecting Girls, Inspiring Futures” we are exhibiting fine art works by female artists. The exhibition presents works by contemporary artists as well as a selection of historical pieces, connecting present art works to creations of women in the past to inspire creatives of the future.
The school of fine arts at Makerere University, Margaret Trowell School of Industrial and Fine Arts, owes her existence to the initiative and effort of a woman; the British artist and teacher Margaret Trowell who laid the foundation for the art school 75 years ago, in 1937, and headed it for the next twenty years.
