Ian Mwesiga is a very interesting young artist whose work shows great promise. A daring artist, his new works show restraint, thoughtfulness, experimentation and a maturity beyond his years.

Ian’s focus currently is figurative, either portraits or the human form, generally with a subtle and atmospheric palette. His work addresses issues of religion, relationships and the human condition. One can sense pain and torment in the solitary portraits and the crucifixion but some of his new paintings are lighter and depict multiple figures and their relationship to each other.

Circle Art Agency have shown Ian’s work with great success in Nairobi, his intelligence, hard work and rigorous approach means we have marked him as an artist to watch and invest in.
